It has been pointed out to me that when someone sends mail from hotmail it may contain more information that one may see at first glance. For example the full header may look like

And if we examine the X-Originating-IP [62.221.5.1] using nslookup we get

Name: vpn.parthusceva.com

Address: 62.221.5.1

Aliases: 1.5.221.62.in-addr.arpa

Which means my anonymous mailer is most likely somehwere in the parthusceca vpn. Now lots of companies have policies against sending malicous and insulting emails and I am sure parthusceva is no exception.

If only I knew someone there I could complain to…

Of course this also means I should apologise for accusing lots of people in error.

Bloggus Interruptus

Just back from a week in Barcelona. Didn’t do an awful lot, just bummed around the sites – Barcelona is really a city to be appreciated by walking around, went to the beach and tried to avoid the 42+ degree heat between 1pm and 4pm. Brought back the usual cigarettes and alcohol and some Spanish food including chorizo.

This weekend I’m off to Dublin for Hilary and Jamies going away drinks. Well they aren’t going away quite yet, but they are finishing work this week. Well Hilary is anyway. I don’t think Jamie cares enough about MLE anymore to have going away drinks. Maybe a going away fire instead.

Hilary is back and presumably better than new, although I imagine when she was new she had tonsils. Plus they wouldn’t have been all horrid and diseased and stuff.

I have been pursuing various avenues of investigation to track down the person sending hate (well impolite) emails. Hilary has an excuse; like a tonsilectomy is a REAL operation – and its not like she couldn’t use email; and Jamie was out of the country. I can’t imagine Lil sending it even if I haven’t add a permalink to ther site yet. I am going to keep up the strategy of accusing people at random and blaming those who seem least offended. So far supsect number one is Maria, who is more evil than she may first appear. Its always the people in the office.
